SPA at home – Pampering mood


Relax the mind, renew the body, revive the soul.

I hope you enjoyed reading my previous post about my Scotland adventures. For this weekend I planned to continue my travelogue with a Glasgow shopping haul post, but actually in the past few days I hardly had any free time to blog :( I had a very busy week after getting back to work from holiday with new projects and tight deadlines. Nice combo, isn’t it?

In the ad industry it’s not an unusual thing, we often have long and stressful weekdays. Therefore I think it’s very important to take some time for ourselves to relax and unwind in the weekends. 

Make time for yourself.

When I have some free (2-3) hours on a Saturday or Sunday, I like switching to pampering mood and treating myself at home. My ritual is quite simple but perfect for the purpose. So let’ see what's in it :)

  • Getting offline and lighting some candles to set the scene. ~ I love-love candles a lot, especially in this season. My fave is SINNLIG, a vanilla scented candle from IKEA, if I light it I'm automatically cozy. 
  • Taking a long, hot bubble bath. ~ I prefer having quick showers, but sometimes I need to jump into the bath tub just to feel it's different now, it's "me" time. 
  • Face and skincare: exfoliating, moisturizing, nourishing ~ I use several face and body products on a daily basis but putting face mask on is sooo relaxing for me and I only use it when I have my SPA hours at home. Amazing!
  • Completing the ritual with a mani/pedi. ~ Okay, so this is the most time-consuming part of the ritual but definitely a must to feel polished and put together in the end. This is the dot over the letter "i" ;)

It’s an amazing feeling starting the week with fully recharged body and clear head. It feels like my mind and body thank that I spent time to “reset” :) Love it!
